Work experience
NCC 2024 Congress in Egmond aan Zee
On March 10, Soa Aids Nederland in collaboration with the Erasmus MC, gave a workshop at the National Internship Congress. The title of the workshop was: 'HIV: diagnosis and dialogue is also within your scope!' The aim is to detect new HIV infections earlier. Together with Freddy Oude Rikmanspoel, I (Kelly Duijzer-van der Wal) was present as an information officer from the HIV Association. One of the most important questions was: Do you know when an HIV test is necessary to make the correct diagnosis?
In this workshop, participants gained more attention to indicators of HIV, when to test for HIV and how to recognize late presentation of HIV. Thanks to Sien van Oeveren, Natasja van Holten , Klaske Vliegenthart and Patricia Bloem for their guidance during this workshop.
National Congress STD*HIV*Sex in Utrecht: Ready for the future!
The role of the professional in the sexual health of tomorrow.
For this annual conference of Soa Aids Nederland, I was allowed to brainstorm and shape the program at the invitation of Ronald Berends and together with (among others) Sjoerd van Elzen I had the pleasure of leading the plenary panel discussion below.
But how? Practical examples of innovation and progress.
Mark van den Elshout, coordinator of the Center for Sexual Health in Utrecht.
Jorian van Schagen, PrEPnu Board Member
Bas Mourik, Founder of ZiZ STD care
Discussion leader: Natasja van Holten, chairman of the V&VN department board HIV Nursing Consultants.
Panel discussion with professionals and community leaders committed to innovation and change. Who is leading the way? What are new developments that we could all learn from and how do the initiators approach this? What are barriers and how do you seize opportunities? We hear and learn from the perspectives of community leaders and professionals about their approach.
NCHIV at KIT in Amsterdam
NCHIV serves as a platform for stakeholders in the Netherlands to share and discuss the latest insights and developments in research into the pathogenesis, epidemiology, prevention and treatment of HIV.
The annual program hosted in English, includes invited lectures, presentations of original research and sessions which link research to societal impact and policy development by a faculty of national and international speakers.
With great thanks to Prof. Dr. Peter Reiss for allowing me to moderate a 'Ratatouille of topics' together with Dr. Vanessa Harris. And for participating, together with Hester den Ruijter, Berend van Welzen Fanny Lauw, and Markella Zanni, in a panel discussion on 'Pathogenesis and prevention of cardiovascular disease: should we think differently about women with HIV?' (moderated by Dr. Vanessa Harris).

Power of love at Beatrix Theater in Utrecht
The Power of Love is a national meeting about living with HIV in the Netherlands. Intended for people with HIV and their loved ones who want to know more about HIV in the Netherlands today.
This edition was once again brilliantly moderated by Mark Vermeulen and Erwin van Ditmarsch and I was very pleased to present the Medical Update in the program together with Prof. Dr. Kees Brinkman and Dr. Jori Symons.

EACS
The 19th European AIDS Conference (#EACS2023) is organised from 18-21 October 2023 in Warsaw, a significant cultural, political, and economic hub of Central and Eastern Europe which has evolved uniquely within last 20 years when EACS 2003 was first hosted here.
Under the theme "It's time to revisit!" the 19th European AIDS Conference will aim not only to revisit the Warsaw city, but also our goals and deliverables in the fight against HIV epidemic and co-infections. Equal access for both EU and non-EU countries to high standards of care, focus on marginalised populations, scaling up the efforts to halt HIV transmission along with promoting access to harm reduction programmes and its de-criminalisation will be at the very centre of our discussions.

Natasja was also on display at the House of HIV 2022 exhibition!
House of Hiv opened its doors from August 19 to September 9, 2022, an exhibition about 40 years of community initiatives in the Netherlands. Spread over a number of locations in Amsterdam, there were rooms filled with personal stories from the various communities affected by HIV. House of HIV is a house under construction and a start in archiving and documenting the history of the Dutch HIV community.
After a successful opening of this special exhibition in the TRUT on August 19, I visited all the 'houses' with good friend Thijs on September 8. Very special to be able to represent the HIV Nursing Consultants and then see yourself larger than life in the second exhibition room at the HIV Association. This was put together with the stichting hiv monitoring and celebrated the diversity of the community.
